Phase 1
Phase 1 is our foundational level course, designed to cultivate and refine proper trim and buoyancy, propulsion, and gas planning. This course also places a heavy emphasis on Human Factors and teaches you how to spot and mitigate pitfalls that can lead to emergencies.
Phase 2
In Phase 2 you will learn to plan and execute dives to 150 feet (45m) using trimix breathing gases. This course builds on the skills learned in Phase 1 and teaches divers decompression planning, gas switches, emergency procedures, and more.
Phase 3
Phase 3 will train you to plan and execute dives to 200' (60m) using trimix breathing gases. Phase 3 builds on your Phase 2 skills and provides the training you need to safely and efficiently carry multiple stage/deco cylinders to increase your bottom time and/or your decompression efficiency.
Closed-Circuit Rebreather
Closed circuit rebreathers bring additional capacity to your team. They are also more complex and require a solid foundational skill base and exemplary situational and team awareness to be used safely. This program requires successful completion of our Phase 1 course.
Subsurface Photography
A picture speaks 1000 words, especially with regard to subsurface objectives. Whether it’s a debris field, vessel hull, or critical infrastructure, our Subsurface Photography course will teach you how to accurately record and document your objective for follow-on action.
Diver Propulsion Vehicle 1
Tired of kicking to get to the objective? Archetype's DPV course is designed to teach DPV handling, communication, and team positioning. Students will also learn how to manage emergencies and equipment failures while handling a DPV.
Diver Propulsion Vehicle 2
Building on the skills taught in DPV 1, this course focuses on long-range transits, navigation, and advanced gas planning. Students will also learn how to manage multiple DPVs and tow payloads.
Human Factors in Diving
Most diving accidents are not the result of technical failures, but rather a lack of situational awareness, ineffective teamwork, poor communication, and complacency. This two-day course focuses on “non-technical skills” and is designed to teach you how to recognize potential pitfalls that can lead to emergencies.
